Setup your Fence

To use the jig, first set the position of the fence using the formula printed on the jig. To set the router fence, butt the fence of the jig against the template fingers. Then adjust the router fence tight against the back edge of the jig, and tighten it in place.

Setup your Router Bit Height

With your router upside down, lay jig onto router base with dovetail bit protruding through the 1-3/4" hole. Adjust the height of the bit up into dovetail slot until it reaches its maximum height. You should now be at the recommended setting for your dovetail jig. You may have to adjust up or down, depending on the tightness of joint you prefer.
