Accurately create a variety of hinge mortises with this easy-to-use jig. Install butt hinges of all sizes with the standard jig. Use special inserts (sold separately) for butler and sewing machine hinges. Or make your own insert for custom jobs. It's simple to operate, and the durable aluminum construction will provide years of reliable help in the shop. The system includes a custom pattern router bit, and complete instructions. No insert is required for routing butt hinges.

Square the corners of the mortise with a chisel and mount the hinge.

Simply add the specialty inserts (sold separately) to our "Hinge Mortising Jig" and create a jig for lock mortises. This system lets you create a perfect mortise for a variety of locks. This system works with both half and full mortise locks. For half mortise locks, use the flush cutting bit (included). Specific inserts are available for specific types of full mortise locks to ensure correct fit. All you have to do is use the right mortise insert and square up the corners! The proper Jig It insert for a given lock is listed above and also with each lock in the online catalog.
